Extramurals
“For when the one great scorer comes to mark against your name, it matters not who won or lost but how you played the game!”

At Maris Stella, extramurals play a very large part in the holistic education of the girls in our care. The main objective of the extramural programme is to create a well structured system within a nurturing environment, where each girl is encouraged to participate and given the opportunity to develop her skills through sound guidance, coaching and teaching.  A healthy mind in a healthy body, personal excellence and the enjoyment of doing well are what we strive towards.

The overall running of the extramurals at Maris Stella is the responsibility of the Extramural H.O.D. This department consists of a Junior Primary Extramural Co-ordinator, Head of Drama, Head of Music, Head of Sport and one other full time Sports Organizer in charge of various sports. Many teachers are also involved in the day to day administration of extramurals at our school.

In an effort to maintain high standards of teaching and coaching and to enhance our extramural programme, we employ additional teachers and coaches in various activities. These teachers and coaches, together with our dedicated staff, give the girls in our school every opportunity from a social standard up to and including provincial representation.
