Maris Stella has an excellent academic record and standard. Since 1996, the pupils have written the IEB (Independent Examination Board) Matriculation Examination. Pupils are encouraged to take part in Subject Olympiads and in other extension programmes. Schools are usually measured by their final matriculation results and our pupils have always excelled, with a 100% pass rate, including a good spread of A aggregates and subject distinctions. The majority of our pupils continue their academic education at tertiary institutions such as Universities and Technikons. Although it is desirable to achieve excellent matriculation results, it is stressed that, at Maris Stella, we cater for each individual child, so that she can develop to become the best she can be, academically, physically and spiritually.

Maris Stella follows the prescribed national curriculum and writes the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) National Senior Certificate.
