Old Girls

A supportive Old Girls’ Association and many dedicated and involved parents ensure that Maris Stella is a truly dynamic, vibrant school family.

The association was founded in 1925. Mother Annunciation loved and revered by all was leaving for Ireland on a well deserved holiday. Sister Ambrose suggested to Miss Brigit Eckhoff, who was then a teacher, that some of the 'Old Girls' get together to say 'goodbye' to sister.

Forty two Old Girls met at Maris Stella on 6 April 1925 to wish Sister well on her trip to Ireland. The reunion was a great success and from it derived the idea of forming an Old Girls' Association. The main object of the Association would be to foster loyalty to the Old School, to keep in mind the ideals and to encourage fellowship and mutual understanding among its members. Miss Gwen Perhouse was elected the first President.
