Our Junior Primary department is a vibrant phase of our school offering rich and varied opportunities. The ethos and values to which the school subscribes help create coherence and a sense of belonging.
Students are encouraged, challenged, and supported in a range of relevant, academic and extra-curricular activities, including leadership. Whilst we teach within the framework of the new Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS), we are constantly extending our girls through developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
As an all-girls high school in Durban, Maris Stella girls are taught the value of relationships, community, and sisterhood. At the same time, we challenge our girls to develop resilience and nurture them in their own individual needs so that they grow their gifts and talents for a better world.
Maris Stella is an independent, all girls’ school in Durban, focused on empowering young women, from Grade 000 through to Grade 12, with the tools to become resilient and self-assured global citizens. As a Catholic school, our holistic education is faith-based, with a strong family-centred approach which nurtures each girl’s unique talent, potential and ability. We offer a caring and enriching place for girls to grow and learn, enabling them to find their own path, voice and purpose. In building confidence, instilling a sense of sisterhood and encouraging excellence in all aspects of school and community life, our girls are well positioned to identify and navigate new opportunities in an ever-changing, complex and challenging world.
